Blackbuck -- $1,750 Shoulder height 22-25 inches. Weight 75-100 pounds, with an average of about 90 pounds. A slender, graceful, very handsome antelope with contrasting dark and white coloration. Considered to be the most attractive and elegant of gazelles. Mature males are rich, dark brown (sometimes appearing almost black) on the upper parts and outside of upper legs with a contrast of white on their under parts, inside of the legs, chin, ears and around the eyes. This animal is native to the plains of India and Pakistan. Challenging to hunt with long shots common. |
