Fallow Deer -- Closed
The most widely kept deer in the world. Originating
in the Mediterranean region of southern Europe and Asia Minor. They
are now found an all inhabited continents. George Washington is
said to have brought the first Fallow Deer to the United States.
Bucks weigh between 175 - 225 pounds but loose up to 25% of body
weight during the rut. Fallow Deer come in three distinct colors.
Brown or chocolate, spotted and white. Sporting large palmated antlers
they are fierce fighters for females. A truly impressive trophy.
