Scimitar-horned Oryx -- $2,000 Shoulder height 46-48 inches. Weight 440-460 pounds. A large, heavily built antelope, very pale in color except for its reddish-brown neck and chest. The face is white with brownish markings. Both sexes grow long, scimitar-shaped horns that are ringed and nearly parallel, with those of females being slimmer. This antelope is native to the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in Africa. |
